Flea and Tick Control-non-toxic &natural or Pesticides for dog?

I have a 12 week old St.Bernard puppy and am looking into different flea and tick brands for the spot on treatments such as frontline plus, bio etc and am amazed at all the toxic chemicals they use. Has anyone had any luck using herbal or non toxic treatments? If so what has worked? And of the top brands for flea control which do you recommend?

Garlic and brewer’s yeast in a powder form works REALLY well. When my kennel was overrun with fleas one year I decided to go another route and tried the natural way. I swear by it now. It’s WAY cheaper and every bit as effective as exposing your dog to loads of toxic chemicals. Vet’s won’t tell you about it b/c they don’t make any money off of selling something that you can buy at a decent nutrition center or good pet store.
